Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Architect / Senior Cloud Developer to lead the design, development, and implementation of cloud-based solutions in support of a federal government contract. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or equivalent cloud platforms, leveraging cutting-edge technologies to drive efficiency, scalability, and security in mission-critical environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the architecture, design, and development of cloud-based solutions on AWS or an equivalent cloud platform.
- Define and implement cloud architecture best practices, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
- Provide strategic guidance on cloud adoption, migration, and optimization, aligning with business and mission objectives.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent.
- Design and implement serverless computing architectures, containerized applications, and microservices.
- Ensure compliance with federal security and regulatory requirements, including FedRAMP, NIST, and FISMA standards.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to automate CI/CD pipelines, improve deployment efficiency, and enhance system monitoring.
- Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and provide recommendations for continuous improvement and innovation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud infrastructure and application issues.
- Mentor junior cloud engineers and developers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and knowledge sharing.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Cloud Architect or Senior Cloud Developer, working with AWS or equivalent cloud platforms.
- Advanced certification in Cloud Architecture, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Professional Level) or an equivalent credential.
- Deep expertise in cloud security, networking, and storage solutions.
- Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, AWS Fargate).
- Strong background in serverless architectures, including AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and Step Functions.
- Proficiency in programming and scripting languages, such as Python, Java, or PowerShell.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced federal environment.
- Must possess a minimum Secret clearance; Top Secret clearance preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working on federal government contracts and understanding of government cloud compliance frameworks (e.g., FedRAMP, NIST 800-53).
- Familiarity with multi-cloud architectures, including Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Knowledge of big data and analytics services, such as AWS Redshift, Athena, or EMR.
- Experience with zero-trust security models and identity/access management (IAM) best practices.
